How I Work

I offer nutritional advice coupled with lifestyle recommendations and botanical medicines that can help to optimise a individuals health.

I achieved a 1st in Herbal Medicine BSc (Hons) from the University of Westminster, a degree program that provides a diverse range of healthcare knowledge and skillsets that enable me to deliver integrative and holistic support to help address chronic disease and metabolic health.

Modern pharmaceutical intervention offers symptomatic relief but rarely addresses the underlying pathology so that the individual has to continue to use that intervention in order to be symptom-free.

Our approach fundamentally differs in that we look to return the body to homeostasis by identifying and treating the underlying pathologies, thus reducing or preventing the symptoms.

Clearly, we are able to offer symptomatic relief concurrently so that the individual is able to function whilst seeking treatment.

An example of this may be the treatment of Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disorder (GERD). Symptomatic relief is necessary whilst treatment of the underlying pathology is instigated, thus certain botanicals such as Ulmus fulva (Slippery Elm) and Filipendula ulmaria (Meadowsweet) can be used for the symptomatic relief, soothing and reducing the acid reflux.

Nutritional interventions can then be employed to reduce intra-abdominal pressure (often caused by Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)) that can drive inappropriate fermentation and thus negatively impact the function of the Lower Esophageal Sphincter, contributing to the reflux issue.

As a proponent of low carbohydrate approaches, the process of nutritional ketosis demonstrates considerable scientifically validated data supporting improvements in metabolic health and longevity.

I have extensive knowledge regarding this area of biochemistry and its implementation in daily lifestyle to help clients achieve health goals and weight management.
